The Ludington Area Arts Council, which owns and operates the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, seeks a full-time executive director.

The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to carry out the vision, mission,
and strategic plan of the Ludington Area Arts Council.

Requirements: Demonstrate excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills. Organized and detail oriented. Demonstrate excellent public relation skills and have the ability to develop positive relationships with a wide variety of individuals and organizations. Possess strong computer skills. Demonstrate ability to work successfully with volunteers and have fund raising and marketing experience. Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Work in partnership with the board to refine policies and procedures for the Center’s operations and programming.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, events, and activities that support the mission of the Ludington Area Arts Council.
  • Work in partnership with the board to develop the annual budget, and make financial decisions consistent within the board approved budget.
  • Support the board in developing and implementing fundraising plans. This includes, but is not limited to assisting, the cultivation and solicitation of donors; writing grants and funding proposals.
  • Develops budget proposals and monitors all financial affairs of the organization in collaborates with the treasurer, bookkeeper, and auditor.
  • Manage the Center’s operations, including marketing and events, personnel and volunteers.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with members, partner organizations, policymakers, media, and other community members.
  • Represent the organization in the community through guest speaker or media opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements to maintain our non-profit status.
  • Prepare and publish newsletters, advertising, web site content, video presentations and any other publications needed to promote the organization.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts in West Michigan. The Center is located at 107 S. Harrison in the historic former home of the United Methodist Church in downtown Ludington. ARTS EDUCATORS: 2011 Michigan Arts Education Survey!!!

Arts Educators... A Message from Michigan Youth Arts

Michigan Youth Arts, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA), and ArtServe Michigan, is conducting the 2011 Michigan Arts Education Survey. This survey builds on past studies. It will be the first time Michigan research includes information about the status ofarts education at the school building level and examines the depth and breadth of student learning in the visual and performing arts - dance, drama/theatre, music, media arts and visual art.

Please take the opportunity to tell them about your school. This will help in preparing accurate data for our Michigan arts advocacy efforts.

The first 1,000 schools to complete the survey will receive a $25 iTunes or Amazon gift card!

Hello Folks,

I have recently been selected to showcase my work at Motor City Movement showcase July 23rd and am in need of dancers.

There are two audition dates:


June 8th (Wed)
5:00-7:00 pm
Detroit, MI
Wayne State University Dance Department
Studio A

June 9th (Thurs)
7-8:30
Ann Arbor, MI
Arts in Motion Dance Studio

Please bring a headshot and resume (if possible) to the audition. You will learn several dance phrases at the audition and some partnering work may be involved. There is no need to prepare a solo prior to the audition.

Those selected for the piece will be paid for performance.

Rehearsals would begin the week following the audition and would be once a week. Location: TBD
